Rwanda Mountain Tea (RMT) Ltd grows organically certified green leaf tea at its plantations of Rutsiro and Busenyi block in Kitabi.

These teas hold EOS and NOP certifications, and are audited regularly to ascertain close adherence to the organic requirements.

From the yields, a variety of Green and Black CTC grades are produced at both Rutsiro and Kitabi Tea Factories including BOP1, OP, FOP, PEKOE, FBOP1, FBOP, FBOPF, OP1, BOP1A, DUST, exported to international niche markets.

A small percentage of it is sold at the Mombasa auction and to private markets locally.
