On May 14th, 2021 Gatare Tea Company officially transitioned to the new version of ISO 22000:2018, a requirement standard for Food Safety Management Systems. This Tea factory started officially operating in December 2017 and was originally certified ISO 22000 in 2019.
The standard contributes to ensure food safety (FSMS) throughout the whole food chain from farm to the end user.

As a result of the high demand of Gatare Tea, above 50% of the production is sold to private buyers who can attest to the consistency of quality Tea they buy which is a result of the stringent FSMS that are in place. All RMT Tea factories are expected to transition to the new version of ISO 22000:2018 certificate.
